Ministry Profile

It was no easy task for the Potters, already in their 50’s, to pack their belongings, say good-bye to their children and grandchildren, and move across the world to Hungary.  But, that is what they did in the spring of 1999. They immediately began intense language study (Hungarian is among the most difficult languages in the world.) and have become fairly proficient in Hungarian.

It is the goal of Biblical missions to establish churches and then to train national men to become leaders and pastors of those churches. David Potter’s background as a seminary professor provides him with the skills necessary for training of national pastors. Working through a mission church already established in Pecs, David started a Bible Institute and is training pastors and church leaders. There is already an established church in Pecs, and the Potters have teamed up with the missionary who planted that church. David’s primary focus is the training of national pastors through a Bible Institute and Jean are working with another missionary couple, the Knieses, who have been in Hungary for several years. They already have a church established in Pecs, and Potters have joined forces with this couple for the purpose of starting a training institute for national pastors. They hope to train men from all over Hungary to become pastors and church planters.
